Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our official iPhone unlocking service.
Factory unlock is the official unlocking method for Apple devices. Your IMEI is permanently whitelisted in Apple's iTunes activation database. Since it is official, it does not void your warranty or cause any system defects. You can safely restore or update your iPhone without losing the unlocked status.
No. The entire process is done remotely via Apple's database. We only require your iPhone's IMEI number. You can find this by dialing *#06# or going to Settings > General > About. Once the unlock status is updated on Apple servers, your phone will automatically activate on any network.
No. This is the same official channel Apple and the carriers themselves use, so your warranty, AppleCare and repair eligibility are untouched. We never jailbreak the device, install software, or open the hardware. Nothing on the phone is modified at all.
Yes. The unlock is recorded against your IMEI in Apple's activation database, not in a file stored on the handset. You can update iOS, restore from a backup, or erase the iPhone completely and it will still activate on any network. This is the main difference from software or "code" unlocks, which stop working after the next update.
These are three separate locks, and only one of them is ours to remove: - Carrier lock: the network that sold the iPhone restricts it to their own SIM. This is what we unlock, officially and permanently. - Blacklisted or barred IMEI: the phone was reported lost, stolen, or left unpaid, so carriers block it from their networks. That block sits in a different database and a factory unlock does not clear it. - iCloud Activation Lock: the previous owner's Apple ID is still attached to the device. Only that owner can remove it, or Apple with proof of purchase. We cannot bypass it and we will not attempt to. If you are unsure which one you are facing, send us the IMEI and we will check before you pay anything.
The request is submitted to the carrier exactly as you send it, so a wrong IMEI unlocks a different device and the submission cannot be reversed. Please check the number twice before paying: dial *#06# or open Settings > General > About and copy all 15 digits. If you spot the mistake before we submit the order, message us straight away and we will correct it free of charge. If the order has already gone through, contact us with both numbers and we will tell you what can be done in your case.
We only need your IMEI, plus the carrier and country the iPhone came from. We never ask for your Apple ID, its password, your device passcode, or your iCloud backups, and you should never hand those to anyone offering an unlock, including us. An IMEI on its own gives no access to your photos, messages, or accounts.
You can submit the request, but the outcome is the carrier's decision. Many networks refuse to release a device while it is under contract or has an outstanding balance, and they simply return an "Unavailable" or "Not Found" result. When that happens the IMEI stays locked and nothing changes on the device. Settling the balance with the original carrier first gives you the best chance of success. Send us your IMEI and carrier before you order and we will talk through your specific case.
Most orders complete within 1 to 5 working days. The exact time depends on the carrier your iPhone is locked to. Some networks update Apple's database within hours, while others process requests in scheduled batches once or twice a week. We tell you the usual range for your specific carrier when we quote the price, and we let you know the moment the status changes.
We confirm every completed order by email, and we reply on our Facebook page (fb.com/appleusersnp) if that is how you first contacted us. Once you have that confirmation, connect the iPhone to Wi-Fi, or plug it into iTunes on Windows or Finder on a Mac, so the device can pick up its new activation record from Apple. You do not need to wait at your phone, because the unlock is applied on Apple's side whether the device is switched on or not.
Yes, three short steps: 1. Power the iPhone off and insert the SIM card of the network you want to use. 2. Switch it back on and connect to a Wi-Fi network. 3. If it still shows the old carrier restriction, connect it to iTunes (Windows) or Finder (Mac) and let the activation finish. A "Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked" message appears. There is no code to type in and nothing to install.
Every model from the iPhone 6 through the current iPhone 17 lineup, including all the SE, mini, Plus, Pro and Pro Max variants. Because the work happens in Apple's database rather than on the handset, the model affects the price but never whether the unlock is possible. Send us the IMEI and we will confirm the exact model and carrier before you pay.
Yes. The unlock is applied server-side on Apple's activation database, so it is completely independent of the iOS version on your phone. You do not need to stay on an older release, skip updates, or delay security patches while you wait.
Yes, and for most of our customers that is the whole point. Once your IMEI is whitelisted the iPhone accepts any SIM card worldwide, including Ncell and NTC, and it keeps that freedom when you travel or resell the device. Just insert the SIM and the phone connects like any locally bought handset.
We accept eSewa, Khalti, and direct bank transfer or deposit. Tell us which one suits you and we will send the account details for that method. We confirm the price and the expected turnaround in writing before you send anything, and the order is submitted once the payment reaches us.
Send us three things: your iPhone model, the carrier it is locked to, and the IMEI. Prices are set per carrier, so all three are needed for an accurate figure. The quickest route is our Facebook page at fb.com/appleusersnp, or you can email support@iphoneunlocknepal.com or use the contact form on this site. We confirm the price and the expected turnaround before you pay anything.
iPhones purchased on contracts are restricted to work only with that specific network provider (e.g., AT&T, T-Mobile, Softbank) for 1–2 years. Factory unlocking removes this restriction so you can insert any local SIM card, such as Ncell or NTC.
